Soooo.... I've always wanted to make a zebra pony, but I was always daunted by the idea because lets face it,
 's zebra ponies are AWESOME  Then I was looking through devart one day and stumble across this piece [link] which I was incredibly inspired by: and after asking  , I made Zebby.I had to change a few things (like the tail fin) to suit MLP, and the stripe pattern just kinda evolved as I was painting them. I also adapted the eyes by giving them a bit more colour Firstly she was sculpted and then sanded to give her that full smooth body finish (which is something which I am very proud of) and then she was airbrushed a bajillion times in white. The stripes... made me cross eyed and frustrated. It took me almost 2 full seasons of Buffy DVDs before they were finished - each stripe has at least 3 coats of black  Sculpting was done with Magic Sculpt and she was sealed with dullcote, her eyes have been glossed. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. The stripes... LOTS of Buffy. Uber lots. I think they kinda developed a flamey look to them, but I've been looking at stripes for so long, its entirely possible I am cross eyed
You should give it a go - its fun and you don't have to go to the extremes of sculpting!! You could just try a straight rehair/new symbols for your first go!!
