El Chupacabra Pony

Made for assassin_kitty at the MLPArena paranormal swap

Assassin_kitty said she wanted a totally random paranormal pony for the swap, and I must confess I was stumped for a while. I thought about doing the Loch Ness Monster, but eventually decided to go with my version of the Chupacabra if it was a pony ^.^

The Chupacabra is classified as an extraterrestrial cryptid (alien animal of unknown origins), and my favourite description involved spines, a forked tongue, no ears, big red glowy eyes and leathery scaley skin.


El Chupacabra pony had her ears carved off and smoothed over, and huge lidless eyes sculpted on. The tongue and spines are all firmly wired into place and a small ridge runs down her back. That ridge actually has black micro beads embedded in there for texture and it is really rough and bumpy ^.^ I also tried to hide her hideous neck seam, and I was pretty successful I think.

She was airbrush a million times in that greenish grey colour, and I painted the dots on as a way of continuing the idea of scales - but made them stylised and swirly coz that was cute ^.^
Her eyes and spines are actually black with irredescent pain on them - blue on the spines and red for the eyes. The tongue was painted a cool deep bluey black colour.

She was sealed with Dullcote and then her eyes, spines and dots were all given a couple of coats of gloss mod podge.
